XTube was one of the major free porn tube sites in both terms of size and viewers. Its video library size and photo gallery library size were both roughly 100.000. Xtube.com has a big selection of straight and lesbian videos. However it was also huge in the gay & bi genres, which is sorted into categories such as Bareback and Bisexual. One of the things XTube focused on was amateur content, they have a big homemade amateur video library. XTube's Amateur Program gave amateurs an opportunity to create content and get paid for it by the community, if they purchase their content for viewing.
XTube shut down permanently on September 5th, 2021.
Origins
XTube was founded by Webnovas Technologies Inc. (WTi) at the end of 2005 when YouTube was exploding into the end of it’s first year. The 2 owners and only employee were discussing future projects when the question “I Can’t believe there isn’t and adult version of this YouTube yet. Why isn’t there one?” The answer was simple – no one was prepared to handle the incredible volume of bandwidth a project like that would generate. No one except for WTi. Development began January 1st 2006 and the beta version of XTube.com was released March 12th 2006.
XTube was the first adult website to allow members to upload their own home-made photos and videos. When XTube was launched on March 12th 2006 the industry was taken by storm, and since then a number of copycat sites have started popping up everywhere.
